Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to guide intelligent foundations and experiences, collaborate across Agile teams, and deliver cloud-based data solutions. The role involves building scalable data pipelines, working with ML and distributed microservices, and mentoring peers to advance engineering practices.

You will use Java, Python, Scala, SQL and NoSQL databases, with Redshift/Snowflake for warehousing, and participate in ongoing tech learning and communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree; 4+ years of application development experience.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
Utilize languages like Java, Scala, Python and open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and cloud data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and participate in tech communities.
