Job summary

Coforge is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to architect and guide data products on a modern cloud platform. You will own end-to-end delivery, design low-latency API-driven data solutions, and oversee backend services and pipelines using Python, Azure Databricks, DBT, SQL, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related technical roles.
• At least 3 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong backend development experience with production-grade REST APIs and services.
• Expert-level Python programming and strong OOP principles.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks and DBT experience.
• Advanced SQL skills and data modeling expertise.
• Familiarity with Terraform and IaC deployments.
• Experience driving data product architecture and low-latency data solutions.
• Strong CI/CD knowledge and modern engineering practices.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the RTS delivery squad and own end-to-end delivery of strategic data products.
• Design architecture for low-latency, API-driven data solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs in Python.
• Develop data pipelines using Azure Databricks, DBT, and SQL.
• Own curated data layers ensuring high availability and performance.
• Evaluate and implement technologies for low-latency serving and API consumption.
• Lead IaC deployments with Terraform and manage infrastructure.
• Mentor data and ML engineers and drive career development.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and SLA compliance across products.
• Drive CI/CD adoption and oversee releases of pipelines and services.
