Job description

Launched in late 2021 to serve frontline workers, ARC was born out of the consumer-facing technology that phone charging provider ChargeItSpot brought to market in 2012. ARC is a device management solution integrated with smart lockers, designed to store, secure, and charge company-owned handheld devices (i.e., by Zebra, Honeywell, etc.) that frontline workers use to do their jobs and perform their core job functions (e.g., for package scanning, inventory lookup, task management, mobile point of sale, etc.).

Clients turn to ARC because they find that it is extremely difficult to manage and maintain their investment in enterprise mobile devices post purchase. There's a ton of waste from legacy, manual processes. Devices frequently go missing (25% annually), stop working, or run out of power – costing payroll time, money and productivity. ARC virtually eliminates these issues, ensuring that devices are functional, charged and not missing -- all while improving productivity and experience for ground teams.

Market demand for ARC has been overwhelming and the company has been growing rapidly. Device management has been a huge unmet need for decades with a problem space that is deceptively nuanced, complex and costly. ARC is uniquely positioned to solve these problems given its decade of relevant technical expertise with ChargeItSpot phone-charging lockers, our legacy mobile device product. ARC builds upon ChargeItSpot’s competencies and has carried over expertise like IP (protected by 8 patents and counting), deep technical know-how, and real-world experience gained while solving similar problems in a live field environment.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director of Data & Analytics who will shape the future of data at ChargeItSpot. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with business acumen and vision.

You’ll guide our data architecture, infrastructure, pipeline, governance and quality strategies while laying the foundation for a world-class data team. You’ll work cross-functionally to deliver data solutions that empower reporting, experimentation, and strategic decision-making across the company.

We need someone who thrives as both an individual contributor and a strategic leader, and who’s excited to build.

What You’ll Do

• Define and execute the long-term vision for ARCt’s data infrastructure and tooling
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and architectures to support reporting, product development, and analytics
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Client Success teams to translate business needs into data solutions
• Lead and grow the data team, hiring and mentoring data engineers and analysts over time
• Establish and enforce best practices in data governance, security, quality, and documentation
• Serve as a thought partner to company leadership on data strategy and product intelligence
• Stay on top of trends in data architecture, analytics platforms, data techniques, and the role of data in product development

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience working with data systems, including at least 2 years in a management or strategic leadership capacity
• Experience building and owning modern data platforms, database design, data lakes, and pipelines at scale
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL frameworks, and cloud platforms (BigQuery / GCP preferred)
• Familiarity with analytics tools like Looker or PowerBI
• Familiarity with event-driven and streaming architectures (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Flink)
• Experience using big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
• Strong business sense: proven ability to map technical data systems to real-world operational and product needs
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
• Experience with Postgres is a plus

Location

We are headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, but have moved to an office-optional work environment – so long as the successful candidate works on East Coast business hours. Hybrid candidates strongly preferred, remote candidates will be considered. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
