Job summary

Trexquant is recruiting a Senior Data Architect to design and lead the next-generation data ecosystem for research and simulations. You will unify hundreds of vendor datasets into an accessible, scalable platform supporting alpha generation across multiple asset classes.

You will architect end-to-end data infrastructure enabling researchers to discover, query, and combine data, with interfaces and APIs for quick hypothesis testing and backtesting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture or large-scale data engineering in finance/research.
• Experience designing scalable data storage solutions (columnar DBs, time-series systems, data lakes).
• Proficiency in Python and modern data stack technologies.
• Understanding of time-series/financial data modeling with multiple vendors.
• Experience building data interfaces, APIs, or tools for researchers/analysts.
• Ability to translate research needs into efficient data schemas.

Responsibilities

• Architect a unified data platform integrating hundreds of vendor datasets for simulators and researchers.
• Design storage and retrieval systems for historical backtesting and high-frequency workflows.
• Develop researcher interfaces and APIs to assemble data into stocks × values matrices.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and simulation teams to meet analytical needs.
• Establish data modeling, normalization, versioning, and quality control across assets.
• Work with DevOps to optimize pipelines, caching, and distributed storage.
• Prototype and deploy internal data applications to boost productivity and transparency.
• Mentor data engineers to maintain robust data systems.
