Job summary

Prudential Ins Co of America is seeking a Lead in the Cyber Security Operations Center in New Jersey. The role focuses on triage, threat assessment, and escalation to safeguard the enterprise, with collaboration across Cyber Defense and Response teams.

You will drive data-driven improvements, build automation, and mentor junior analysts while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders. A strong background in security operations and agile environments is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a cybersecurity-focused role with at least 2 years in security operations
• Strong knowledge of security event handling processes, detection methodologies, and SOC operations
• Experience with enterprise tech including OS, networking, IAM, and cloud/SaaS
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, IDS/IPS and related tools
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with stakeholder engagement ability
• Experience working in Agile or iterative environments
• Strong time management to prioritize incidents in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

• Provide shift-level operational leadership and monitor active security events
• Coordinate alert intake, triage, and prioritization with defined SLAs
• Lead and coordinate security event escalations with proper context and prioritization
• Maintain event handling quality and documentation standards
• Drive continuous improvement of runbooks, SOPs, and automation
• Stay current on threats and industry trends to enhance capabilities
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT stakeholders to implement security improvements
• Mentor junior analysts and share best practices
