Job summary

SoTalent in Houston is seeking an executive Information Security leader to serve as Head of Cyber Architecture. You will direct enterprise security strategy, lead a team of architects, and partner with executives to align security with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least one active professional security certification.
• 8+ years IT experience with at least 5 years in cybersecurity.
• Proven leadership directing large security initiatives for 8+ years.
• Deep knowledge of network security solutions including next generation firewalls and behavioral analytics.
• Experience with host-based security and multiple DB platforms (SQL, Oracle, Linux).
• CISSP/CEH certifications valued, over 15 years IT/security experience preferred.
• Experience architecting security for large multi-site enterprise environments.

Executive Information Security Search: Head of Cyber Architecture

Our client, a major leader in the logistics and distribution sector, is seeking a high level Cybersecurity Architect to spearhead their enterprise security strategy. This is a critical leadership role based in Houston, Texas, requiring an on-site presence of three to four days per week.

In this position, you will be the primary visionary for the organization's security framework. You will lead a dedicated team of architects to design and deploy resilient systems that safeguard global infrastructure and sensitive data. You will act as a bridge between technical teams and executive leadership, ensuring that every technological advancement is backed by a robust risk management strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in both host based security and various database platforms like SQL, Oracle, and Linux.

Preferred Background

• Advanced degrees and prestigious certifications such as CISSP or CEH are highly valued.
• Over 15 years of total experience within the IT and security landscape.
• Extensive experience architecting security for massive, multi site enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator capable of documenting control effectiveness and presenting complex risk data to non technical stakeholders. Flexibility for rotational shift work may be required based on operational needs.
