The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for directing the activities of CT Technologists on the assigned shift. They model appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practice excellence through assessment, care, evaluation, and education to patients and families, following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, reimbursement standards, and policies related to the area of responsibility.
  • Offer leadership in the clinical practice area by collaborating with technical staff to organize daily workflow and patient care.
  • Commit to learning excellence through ongoing professional development and clinical expertise.
  • Demonstrate role clarity through professional competence and knowledge, supporting the radiology profession and fostering growth and learning environment.
  • Promote cultural excellence by recognizing and appreciating diversity.
  • Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Education: Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology

Experience: 1-3 years in CT Technology

Skills and Abilities
  • Technical knowledge to guide and lead others and handle complex tasks.
  • Leadership skills and ability to exercise independent judgment for resolving unusual problems.
  • Knowledge of imaging equipment's physical and operational characteristics.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, PACS preferred).
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
Licenses and Certifications
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Supervision

Leads and guides CT Techs and trainees.

Physical Demands
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • Physical exertion up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Requires close visual acuity, including color and depth perception.
  • Frequent contact with patients and exposure to body fluids and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly in emergencies.
