Job summary

University of Miami Health System is seeking a Chief Technologist to oversee XR imaging services, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage staff scheduling and performance. The role includes budgeting, policy development, and collaboration with leadership to deliver high-quality diagnostic examinations.

The Chief Technologist will supervise department personnel, ensure accreditation standards, and drive performance improvements in patient throughput and workflow within a busy radiology

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging program.
• Valid State of Florida General Radiographer license.
• ARRT certification in primary modality.
• CPR and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise imaging services and daily operations for timely patient throughput.
• Assist in compilation of departmental statistics for evaluation.
• Develop/maintain modality accreditation certifications.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and operational policies and procedures.
• Oversee hiring, discipline, and promotions of department staff.
• Review diagnostic orders for appropriateness and notes.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
• Support staff training and conduct yearly performance appraisals.
