Job summary

Virtua Health is hiring a CSS Technician in Voorhees, NJ. You will assist the Director/Supervisor in coordinating daily staffing, assigning tasks, and ensuring instruments are decontaminated, sterilized, and ready for use in the OR and related areas.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to quality standards, and accurate documentation of department records. On-site, full-time position with a 1st shift and 40 hours per week, offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 2-3 years as a CSS Technician. Good communication, delegation and prioritization skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Required Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Training / Certification / Licensure: CRCST/CBSPD required, CER Preferred
• Hourly Rate: $24.51 - $36.89

Responsibilities

• Assesses, observes, prioritizes workflow, assigns and leads staff to ensure efficient operation of the department. Serves as a resource for staff.
• Ensures surgical instrument needs list is completed and notifies appropriate party of shortages.
• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered surgical equipment, and endoscopes into instrument trays or packages of individual items for sterilization.
• Collects, cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments collected from clinical units, OR, L&D and other areas performing invasive procedures.
• Performs quality improvement and quality assurance (control). Ensures staff demonstrates accurate documentation of department records.
• Monitors and documents biological and mechanical results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Coordinates the orientation of new staff and retraining of current staff as needed in the concepts and work practices of CSS. Fills into Supervisory capacity in the absence of Director/ Manager/Supervisor.
• Delivers patient care equipment, takes inventory of specialty carts and replenishes supplies for department and centralized O.R. Case Cart System.

Job Summary
