Job summary

Douglas County is seeking a Land Surveyor for the Surveyor's Office to perform professional surveying, lead field crews, review private surveys for compliance, and step in for the County Surveyor as needed. A PLS license is required.

The position offers full-time employment with excellent benefits, including medical/vision/dental/LTD/Life and County-paid PERS retirement after waiting periods. Onsite childcare is available through Roseburg Professional Childcare.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon Professional Land Surveyor license at time of appointment.
• Minimum 3 years of professional land surveying experience with supervisory or management duties.
• Oregon driver’s license and regular attendance are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field operations of the survey crew.
• Research and re-establish government survey corners and document results.
• Set horizontal and vertical control monuments; establish State plane coordinates and elevations.
• Review privately prepared land surveys for compliance.
• Prepare and oversee filing of reports and descriptions.
• Communicate with owners, private surveyors, and the public; use initiative to complete tasks.
