Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Senior Correctional Officer with a passion for providing the highest quality care in a secure institutional setting. The officer will supervise Correctional Officers on the shift, protect inmates and preserve their legal rights, and support administrative and operational security activities.

The position offers hourly pay of $27.01 per hour and requires a high school diploma or GED, two years in criminal justice (preferably supervisory), completion of basic pre-service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification.
• Two years experience in a criminal justice field, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Completion of basic pre-service officer training; valid driver's license; must be at least 18.

Responsibilities

• Provide general supervision of Correctional Officers and inmates on the shift.
• Conduct inspections of housing and general use areas to ensure security, health, safety, sanitation and welfare standards.
• Assist in supervising internal and external security; routinely inspect posts to ensure alertness and proper security.
