Job summary

Exyte seeks a Lead VDC Coordinator to lead and manage BIM development for large multi-disciplinary campuses. You will serve as the primary VDC contact, aligning the BIM Execution Plan and delivering model collaboration, automation, and management support across teams.

You will guide a team of VDC staff, run weekly coordination meetings, and ensure high-quality deliverables while shaping project standards and workflows. Strong leadership, communication, and laser scanning expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Design; or 4 years equivalent VDC experience
• 10+ years of experience as VDC Coordinator at an AEC/Engineering consulting firm or a Construction Management firm on large scale projects with oversight of VDC staff
• 5+ years in both Design and Construction VDC Coordination
• Data Center Project Experience a plus
• Advanced user of AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit and Navisworks Manage software
• Ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of solutions with creativity and continuous improvement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of Laser Scan Data
• Ability to manage large scale Laser scanning programs

Responsibilities

• Creates, maintains, and manages the BIM Execution Plan in collaboration with the Design Manager and Discipline Managers
• Capable of leading small to medium scale projects or critical portions of a large-scale project
• Oversees multiple weekly BIM Coordination and Clash Detection meetings
• Point of Contact for all CADD and BIM requests from internal and external clients
• Performs Quality Control review on drafting standards for all published sheet files delivered
• Provides project level training to engineers and designers as needed
• Creates and manages Navisworks Federated Models for clash detection and viewpoint management
• Initiates and maintains the Design and Construction Platform (ACC/BIM 360)
• Maintains Project Requirement Instructions for project deliverables
• Manages model exchange between all parties within the company’s governance on the project
• Ensures alignment to the BIM Execution Plan by design and construction teams
• Captures changes in building orientation and coordinates with all project parties
• Provides direction to other VDC staff
• Other duties as assigned

The Lead VDC Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the development of a Building Information Model (BIM) for large scale multi-disciplinary projects/campuses. As the primary point of contact for VDC on the project campus, the Lead VDC Coordinator interfaces with the entire team to ensure alignment to the BIM Execution Plan. The Lead VDC Coordinator provides the project team with necessary model collaboration, automation, and management support. The Lead VDC Coordinator manages additional project resources such as VDC Coordinators, Technicians and Technology Leads.

• Ensures alignment to the project BIM Execution Plan by the design and construction teams
• Ensures any changes in building orientation and coordinates are captured with all internal and external project parties, regardless of authoring software
• Provided direction to other VDC staff
