Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Lead Cook to oversee the kitchen, plan menus, train staff, and ensure safety and quality for residents. You will supervise cooks, manage inventory, and help maintain budgets.

This role emphasizes leadership in a senior living environment, teamwork, and delivering appealing meals. A High School diploma or GED and Food Service Certification are preferred; culinary training is welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams in a dining/healthcare setting.
• Strong supervisory and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience cooking for large groups and developing menus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Cooks and Culinary Assistants; participate in hiring, training, and discipline of staff.
• Conduct in-service trainings and performance reviews (30-day, 90-day, and semi-annual).
• Plan menus to minimize waste and ensure quality presentation.
• Cook up to 4 days per week and support the full-service Anytime menu.
• Maintain inventory, keep within budget, and analyze costs.
