Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience in meal preparation in group care setting.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity of clients and employees.
• Be team oriented and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and food ordering.
• Develop nutritious, CACFP-compliant menus for mothers and toddlers in maternity shelter.
• Supervise part-time Backup Cook and coordinate kitchen coverage.
• Ensure sanitation, temperature logs, labeling and storage compliance.
• Plan daily menus within budget and prepare meals Monday to Friday (and Friday for weekend needs).
• Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate with vendors as feasible.
• Assist with inspections and quality improvement activities.
