Job summary

Delaware North Sportservice at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle is seeking a part-time Lead Cook to join our kitchen leadership team. You will guide the prep, cooking, and storage to meet quality standards while monitoring quantities, labor, and costs.

This role requires 2+ years in culinary service, ability to read prep sheets and recipes, basic math for measurements, and strong verbal communication to lead kitchen staff. Weekly pay and a benefits package accompany a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure freshness and proper packaging of all menu items.
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties per company guidelines.
• Follow health codes and sanitation regulations.
• Complete end-of-day inventory and other opening/closing duties per checklists.

The opportunity Delaware North Sportservice is searching a part-time experienced Lead Cook to join our team at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. As a Lead Cook, you will be a visible leader in the kitchen, working with the team to deliver food to quality standards, monitor the quantities, labor, and overhead costs.

Pay

$29.40 - $29.40 / hour

What will you do?

• Lead the work of kitchen assistants in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary conditions
• Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
• Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
• Ensure freshness and quality of all menu items and packages all products to proper specifications
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to company guidelines
• Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
• Complete end-of-day inventory and other opening and closing duties in accordance with company checklists and procedures

More About You

• 2 or more years of previous experience in a culinary service role is required
• Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
• Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
• Verbal communication skills to lead the work of kitchen assistants

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip, etc. a variety of foods and liquids
• Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs
• Standing and walking for the entire length of shift
• Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at the waist, bending and squatting
• Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms
