Job summary

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking a Lead Cook to lead our culinary team in providing scratch kitchen meals and maintaining high quality. You will prepare meals, follow recipes, and mentor line cooks to ensure smooth dinner services in our community.

Qualified candidates bring at least four years of progressive kitchen experience, ServeSafe certification, and the ability to train staff. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

• Four years’ progressive responsibility in a full-service restaurant or similar environment.
• ServeSafe Certification (or willing to obtain within three months).
• Experience in all cooking stations and methods.

Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Lead Cook position.

As part of our onboarding experience, you'll advance your culinary career through our partnership with Rouxbe Online Culinary School. This seamless introduction includes a series of comprehensive courses that provide 9 transferable college credit hours upon completion, setting you up for long term success from day one!

The ideal candidate for our organization serves a very important role in the success of our brand, culinary culture, vision, and future. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing meals and following established recipes. Supports the kitchen staff and ensures the restaurants run smoothly through each meal service. Assists in the training and development of line cooks and prep staff.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of four years’ progressive responsibility in a full-service restaurant, catering, healthcare, country club/hotel, or cruise line environment
• ServeSafe Certification (or willing to obtain within the three-month introductory period)
• Experienced in all cooking stations and methods

Pay Range

$20.60 - $25.75 / hour. Starting rate will vary based on skills and experience.
