Job summary

EAD is seeking a Staff Controls Engineer to lead controls engineering across multiple industrial projects in Cary, NC. The role emphasizes design, programming, field support, and cross-discipline coordination within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years of experience, strong PLC/DCS expertise, and hands-on commissioning experience in industrial facilities, including on-site field work and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of controls engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with PLC/DCS-based control system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA programming and configuration.
• Field commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting in active facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and DCS-based control systems for industrial facilities.
• Develop and configure HMI and SCADA applications to meet project requirements.
• Perform field activities including commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, process, and other project teams to align controls scope.
• Prepare engineering deliverables such as control system design docs and instrument lists.
• Support proposals with technical input and scope definitions.
• Contribute to design reviews and quality checks.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and construction teams professionally.
