Job summary

Bridging Pennsylvania Constructors is seeking a Contract Manager to lead contract-management functions for the PennDOT Major Bridges Project, coordinating with Commercial Managers and project teams to ensure compliance with contracts and laws. Location options include Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia.

The role requires 5+ years in contract management within construction (or 3+ years in heavy civils).

Qualifications

• . Bachelor's degree in business, construction management or related degree (MBA/JD preferred).
• . Experience in construction law.
• . Minimum of 5 years in contract-management within construction or 3 years managing contracts in heavy civils construction.
• . Ability to interact with Executives, Directors and Managers across teams.
• . Effective communication and collaboration across operations.
• . Strong negotiating and commercial acumen.
• . Ability to work with internationally staffed teams.
• . Strong organizational skills under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and defend contractual interests of assigned subcontracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and report subcontractor commercial issues within prime contract constraints and applicable law.
• Fairly evaluate subcontractor changes and claims with respect to cause, effect, entitlement, pricing, and substantiation.
• Prepare and review draft contractual correspondence for assigned subcontracts.
• Assist project team with prime-contract notices, change requests, claims, and related correspondence.
• Develop strategies to prevent, mitigate and transfer risk exposure.
• Ensure compliance and manage maintenance of required contractual securities and insurance policies.
• Assist in contract-management policy development and implementation.
• Prepare internal/external monthly reports on contractual matters.
• Maintain logs and records for subcontract files and changes.
• Complete contract close-out activities including validation of obligations.
