Caterpillar Inc. seeks a Configurator Systems Integration Engineer at our Decatur, IL facility. The role involves concept work, integrating new products and technologies, and managing top-level 3D models to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

The candidate will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and customers, addressing design challenges and guiding production readiness while applying DFM methodologies. Travel is None.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Mechanical/Electrical) or foreign equivalent plus 5 years as a Mechanical Engineer/Design Engineer or related occupation.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) applied to component design.
• Siemens Teamcenter and CREO applications; Print reading.
• Design for manufacturability; Design of complex machines.

Responsibilities

• Work on concepts and integrate new products, components, or technologies.
• Manage/maintain top level 3D model of current product line.
• Communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers, and other business units.
• Lead resolution of manufacturing or assembly issues; ensure design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
• Plan and improve engineering procedures and operations for reliability and cost reduction.
