Job summary

SandboxAQ is seeking a Computational Magnetics leader to define the scientific direction of the Magnets vertical. You will shape the magnetism-aware LQM, guide multi-scale modeling, and drive dataset strategy and experimental validation to accelerate magnet technologies.

You will build and mentor a top-tier team, partner with AI platform teams and national labs, and translate research outputs into practical, manufacturable magnets for U.S. semiconductor supply chains.

Qualifications

  • Lead scientific programs in magnetic materials and manage teams.
  • Translate first-principles and ML-driven modeling into manufacturable magnets.
  • Publish and patent work; engage with national labs and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the scientific charter and roadmap for the Magnets vertical.
  • Oversee IP strategy and value generation from design outputs.
  • Build and mentor a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Define magnetism-aware LQM and data-generation capabilities.
  • Lead external scientific engagement with labs and partners.
  • Architect DBTL loops—computational modeling with lab validation.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams for licensing and partnerships.
  • Author external scientific narratives for updates and conferences.
