Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector Mission Assurance seeks a Lead Compliance Auditor to serve as senior technical authority for audit execution across manufacturing and production operations. You will own the Layered Process Audit program, develop risk-based audit plans, lead audit teams, and drive corrective actions to closure.

You will mentor auditors, collaborate with Compliance Manager, and ensure conformance to ISO 9001, AS9100, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, FAR, and DoD requirements on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of quality auditing, compliance, or quality systems in defense/manufactured industries; includes 2+ years leading audits or audit teams.
• Experience auditing in active manufacturing/production environments.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, or sustaining a Layered Process Audit program.
• Proficiency with ISO 9001 and AS9100, ISO 19011, ITAR/EAR, and DFARS.
• Experience with EDMS and records management; Windchill preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit program leadership and planning, developing risk-based annual audit schedules.
• Serve as lead auditor for assigned audits and manage timelines to closure.
• Develop audit checklists linked to clauses or contracts and perform opening/closing meetings.
• Consolidate findings, classify severity, and issue final audit reports.
• Mentor auditors and calibrate techniques; drive corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain independence by assigning auditors outside their areas of responsibility.
• Support external audits from customers and regulators.
