Job summary

State of Washington’s Mount Vernon Field Office is seeking an experienced Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) to join our team in Mount Vernon, WA. The role offers a monthly salary range of $6,407 to $8,612 and a Monday–Friday schedule from 0800–1700 as an internal hire for a full-time, permanent position.

The CCO3 will supervise individuals, provide leadership to other officers, and engage with partners to improve public safety while upholding agency policies and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Armed staff must have the ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
• Must possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Washington.
• Willingness and ability to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds and anti-social behaviors; review graphic materials; and to remain objective when dealing with individuals under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individuals who have committed a crime and have been ordered to supervision in the community.
• Engage with supervised individuals to work towards positive change.
• Enforce supervision conditions and the law.
• Lead other Community Corrections Officers.
• Act as the Unit Duty Officer.
