Job summary

Custom Filters Direct is seeking an experienced Roofing Lead / Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain roofing systems at our Pennsylvania facilities in Bloomsburg and Berwick, with travel to Vandling as needed. This hands-on role requires diagnosing leaks, performing quality repairs, and leading a crew when required.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of roofing experience, at least 1 year in supervision, and owns roofing tools and equipment. OSHA 10 is required; OSHA 30 is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of roofing experience, including commercial roof repairs.
• 1 year of experience leading or supervising a roofing crew.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, leak diagnosis, and repair methods.
• General maintenance or mechanical repair experience.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel between Bloomsburg, Berwick, and Vandling, including occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work safely at heights.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roofs for leaks, damage, and wear and determine repairs.
• Repair and maintain commercial flat roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen) and other roofs.
• Repair flashing, drains, gutters, penetrations, and rooftop equipment curbs.
• Perform preventive roof maintenance and respond to emergency leaks.
• Assist with general building repairs and mechanical maintenance as needed.
• Lead roofing crews when required, assign tasks, monitor progress, and inspect work.
• Train crew members on roofing techniques and safety practices.
• Coordinate with site managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Estimate labor and material needs; track tools and supplies.
• Document repairs with photos and notes for management.

Commercial Roofer / Maintenance Mechanic

Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Additional Location: Vandling, Pennsylvania
Travel: Travel to Vandling as needed. All work-related travel expenses are covered, including any occasional overnight stays.

Custom Filters Direct is seeking an experienced Roofing Lead / Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain roofing systems and support general facility maintenance at our Pennsylvania locations. Work will primarily take place in Bloomsburg and Berwick, with travel to Vandling as needed.

This hands-on position requires someone who can diagnose leaks, complete quality repairs independently, handle general maintenance tasks, and lead a crew when needed. Candidates must have their own roofing tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roofs for leaks, damage, and wear, and determine appropriate repairs.
• Repair and maintain commercial flat roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM/rubber roofing, and modified bitumen, as well as metal and asphalt shingle roofs.
• Repair flashing, roof drains, gutters, penetrations, and rooftop equipment curbs.
• Perform preventive roof maintenance and respond to emergency leaks.
• Assist with general building repairs, facility upkeep, and mechanical maintenance as needed.
• Lead roofing crews when needed, assign tasks, monitor progress, and inspect completed work.
• Train crew members on proper roofing techniques and safe work practices.
• Coordinate with site managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Estimate labor and material needs and track tools, supplies, and materials.
• Document repairs with photos, job notes, and updates to management.
• Follow and enforce fall protection requirements and company safety procedures.
• Travel between company locations as assigned, primarily Bloomsburg and Berwick, with trips to Vandling as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of roofing experience, including commercial roof repairs.
• At least 1 year of experience leading or supervising a roofing crew.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, leak diagnosis, and repair methods.
• General maintenance or mechanical repair experience.
• Ability to complete work independently and make sound decisions without direct supervision.
• Must have own roofing tools, equipment, and materials.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Fall protection training and certification.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to work at our Bloomsburg and Berwick facilities and travel to Vandling as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to work safely at heights, lift up to 60 pounds, and perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Forklift, scissor lift, or boom truck certifications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
