Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, TX

Are you the technician others call when a commercial HVAC problem is difficult to solve?

Strategic Service Solutions, LLC is looking for a highly skilled Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose complex system issues, perform high-quality repairs, and provide technical leadership in the field. This position is designed for an experienced commercial technician who can work independently, guide developing technicians, and communicate professionally with customers and facility teams.

What You'll Work On

Our technicians serve commercial facilities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The equipment and systems you may encounter include:

• Chillers and cooling towers
• Commercial boilers
• Rooftop units
• Air-handling units
• Pumps and variable-frequency drives
• Variable-air-volume and fan-powered boxes
• Building automation and HVAC control systems
• Other commercial heating, cooling, and mechanical equipment

What You'll Do

• Diagnose difficult mechanical, electrical, and controls-related HVAC problems
• Service and repair a variety of commercial heating and cooling systems
• Complete preventive maintenance and comprehensive equipment inspections
• Identify system deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions
• Lead field assignments and help coordinate technicians and subcontractors
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to junior technicians
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations to building engineers, facility managers, property owners, and customers
• Accurately record labor, equipment information, repairs, and recommendations
• Use BuildOps service software to maintain complete job documentation
• Follow established safety procedures and quality standards
• Take responsibility for service issues from diagnosis through completion
• Help ensure repairs are performed correctly and efficiently the first time

What We're Looking For

• At least six years of HVAC/R experience with a stable employment record
• Seven to ten years of commercial HVAC service experience preferred
• Advanced commercial troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Experience servicing chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, pumps, cooling towers, and related systems
• EPA Universal Certification
• Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Experience with BAS or BMS platforms is an advantage
• Ability to lead work in the field and support less-experienced technicians
• Professional customer-service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, organize assignments, and manage changing priorities
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
• Ability to provide two professional or business references
• Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screenings
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in elevated or confined areas when necessary

Compensation and Company Benefits

• Full-time W-2 employment
• Pay: $45 - $57.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated technical ability

Work Schedule

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday. Overtime, rotating on-call assignments, and occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on customer needs.
