OneMain Financial is seeking a Lead Collection Specialist to drive performance across an assigned district by directly engaging customers and supporting branch teams. You will balance empathy with accountability, negotiate effectively, and coach others toward success.

Responsibilities include managing high-volume collections, resolving past-due accounts through repayment or settlements, and partnering with branch managers to identify trends and provide targeted support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2–3 years of related experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize effectively, and meet performance goals.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the assigned district.

We’re looking for a results-driven professional who can balance empathy with accountability, negotiate effectively, build strong relationships, and coach others toward success.

In the Role

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of related experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize effectively, and consistently work toward performance goals.
• Sound judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to make informed decisions.
• Ability to influence, coach, and build trust with customers and colleagues.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the assigned district.
• Ability to successfully complete all required training programs.

Preferred

• Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or training others.
• Experience supporting multiple branches, locations, or teams.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with some extended hours during the week as needed which may include Saturday.

Target base salary range is $18.00-24.00 which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
