Job summary

Colonial Group in Trevose, PA is seeking a Department Leader of CNC Mill Lathe or Drill Press to lead workflow, train staff, and drive process improvements on the 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:30 PM EDT) after an initial 1st shift training period. Competitive sign-on bonus offered based on experience and shift requirements.

The role requires strong manufacturing knowledge, hands-on machine operation, and the ability to mentor team members while meeting quality and production targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing experience; 3+ years as a Level III operator.
• Basic math proficiency; ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to learn, problem-solve and follow work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review work center/departmental listings to determine procedures and expediting workflow with supervisors and managers.
• Inform personnel on methods and procedures for assignments.
• Perform job setups as needed.
• Maintain high-quality standards and production rates within the department.
• Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to specifications.
• Train and mentor new employees.
• Review and correct errors in methods and procedures.
• Document corrections for set-up procedures and operation of machinery.
• Recommend adjustments to work standards and monitor achievement.
• Improve efficiency through set-up reduction and problem resolution.
• Fulfill duties of a level III operator on requested machines.
• Perform other duties within scope of work.
