Job summary

Divergent is seeking a CNC Machining Specialist to develop and execute precision turning/milling strategies for high-performance aerospace and automotive components. You will own setups, solve on-the-floor challenges, and drive repeatable, high-quality processes from prototype through production.

Operate multi-axis machines, apply GD&T, and collaborate with design and engineering to enable rapid iteration while maintaining safety and efficiency on a 3-4 shift rotation in a fast-paced production

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating CNC turning centers (2-axis, live tooling, mill-turn, or multi-axis lathes).
• Strong cross-functional machining experience including milling (3-axis, 3+2, 5-axis) and grinding.
• Proficiency with Siemens, Fanuc, & Heidenhain controllers.
• Advanced understanding of GD&T and its application in precision machining.
• Experience taking parts from first article through production and creating setup docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup, operation, and optimization of CNC turning centers for precision components.
• Execute machining and grinding across a range of equipment to support production demands.
• Own first article through production runs and ensure parts meet specs.
• Define machining strategies across turning and milling; select workholding and tooling.
• Identify and eliminate cycle-time inefficiencies; troubleshoot tool wear and chatter.
• Mentor machinists on best practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and maintain process documentation.
