Woodcraft Rangers is seeking a Lead Club Leader for the Inland Empire Moreno Valley location. This on-site, part-time role supports TK–12 with 10:1 to 20:1 participant ratios and requires coordinating with a Program Manager, parents, and school partners.

The position emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and engaging after-school programming. Training occurs at the main office and in schools, with morning hours and weekend flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead on-site Club Leader and primary point of contact for partners and families.

• Monitor attendance and engagement; maintain regular updates to families and partners.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.36

Status: Part-time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 20-25 hours/week, shifts vary per location

Reports to: Enrichment Coordinator

Program hours of operation: Morning Shift - Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri from 7:00AM-1:30PM (varies by location)

What We Do

Woodcraft Rangers provides TK‑12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In recent years the organization has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It also offers Lifecraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 1,500 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 160 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach.

Job Summary

The Lead Club Leader operates as the lead on‑site club leader, serving as the primary point of contact for partner and parent communication, while continuing to implement the daily activities of a Club Leader. The Lead Club Leader is the immediate contact and response person to support as the person in charge of the program daily. Lead Club Leaders are responsible for ensuring a fun and positive learning environment for club participants and will support clubs of 10 to 1 for TK‑Kinder and 20 to 1 for 1st‑12th grade. Other members of the team include a Program Manager, who oversees programs in the Val Verde School District. All staff can choose between working in school sites, sleepaway camp, or both.

The Lead Club Leader position is an on‑site position, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office and school sites.

Role Overview

• Serves as the lead on‑site Club Leader and is the primary point of contact for partner and parent communication.
• Acts as the immediate contact and response person to support as the person in charge of the program daily, ensuring clear and timely communication.
• Remains accessible and responsive to families, school partners, and program support staff throughout program hours.
• Ensures students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally) and promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.
• Develops and leads age‑appropriate program activities that are fun, engaging, and aligned with a whole‑child approach (social‑emotional learning, skill building, self‑esteem, leadership, etc.).
• Monitors participant attendance and engagement to ensure participants are present and actively engaged in program activities.
• Builds positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
• Collaborates with colleagues and supervisor to develop culminating activities or events that showcase all participants’ work and accomplishments.
• Requests required materials in a timely manner so the Program Manager can ensure materials are available when needed and within budget.
• Complies with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including staying up to date on all training and required certifications.
• May be required to attend off‑site field trips.
• Maintains and submits student attendance daily.
• Participates in staff development training as required, approximately 15 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
• Lead Club Leaders/Jr Ranger Club Leaders are accountable to the Program Manager for assigned duties.
• Maintains proactive communication with parents through regular program updates, individual student updates, and timely emergency communication.
• Serves as the primary on‑site liaison for school partners, including school administration and site personnel, to ensure program alignment and support.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA Degree in Child Development or a related field preferred); prior experience working with groups of K‑12 students in an academic or recreational setting preferred.
• Works well with young children and/or youth.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Computer literacy and willingness to learn.
• Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification.
• Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling.
