Job summary

JPMorganChase in Irvine is seeking a Lead Software Engineer specialized in AWS and Terraform to drive secure, scalable production solutions within the Healthcare Payments team. You will serve as a core technical contributor and lead end-to-end development across design, build, test, and deploy.

Responsibilities include delivering high-quality production code, reviewing peers, automating remediation, and guiding architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end solutions across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production systems.
• Proven Infrastructure-as-Code skills with Terraform, including authoring/maintaining reusable modules, managing remote state and locking, and applying workspace/environment best practices.
• Practical cloud-native engineering experience, including designing and operating workloads on AWS.
• Strong automation and delivery capabilities, including CI/CD pipeline design, integrating Terraform into workflows, automated validation/testing, and scripting to streamline engineering processes.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching on safe adoption.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and security expectations.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions to drive architectural outcomes and applicability within existing systems.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies.
• Drives team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development, to improve automation.
• Contributes to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
