Overview

Lead Clinician-RN-Clinic at WVU Medicine Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Centers

Responsibilities

• Provides complex technical nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of the RN Ambulatory Care Supervisor or providers.
• Serves as the administrative lead under the supervision of the Ambulatory Care Supervisor.
• Adheres to all practice policies, procedures and regulations, including attendance, confidentiality and compliance.
• Admits patients to the practice and demonstrates technical competencies in the practice, including vitals and assisting medical care providers as needed.
• Screen patients to determine the need for medical attention and assists in developing an appropriate Plan of Care.
• Maintains professional nursing expertise and utilizes multidisciplinary resources to meet patient/family needs, including education.
• Organizes tasks to align with patient care needs; demonstrates high standards in customer service and teamwork.
• Provides mentoring to nursing staff and coordinates direct care activities among nursing staff and front office staff.
• Ensures proper staffing for the medical practice and participates in staff reviews and evaluations.
• Supports safe environment practices, regulatory compliance, and appropriate interaction with clients, families, and staff.
• Participates in service improvement processes and reports results to the appropriate administrative levels.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state RN license through the eNLC; obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: Three (3) years clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: BSN.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting.

Physical Requirements

• Must meet Department of Labor’s MEDIUM duty standard (MEDIUM WORK - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly).
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and perform standing/walking for an 8- to 10-hour shift.

Working Environment

• May travel between facilities and buildings.
• Schedule may vary based on business needs.
