Job summary

The Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Lead Clinician for the Journey of Hope Long Term Foster Care program. Job description

Lead Clinician

Reports to: Program Manager

Program: Journey of Hope Long Term Foster Care (LTFC)

Location: Moon Township, PA

Hours: Full-time, exempt position with need for flexibility in hours. Able to participate in on-call rotation.

General Statement: The Clinical and Behavioral Support Specialist conducts mental health assessments for all minors in care and provides ongoing individual, group and crisis intervention. Acts as a mentor for the minor and assists the program staff in providing stabilization of the minor and working with minor on existing behavioral issues. Oversees minor’s progress and shares updates/recommendations with the care provider staff to ensure holistic support for the minor’s treatment plan. The ratio of minors to clinicians shall not be greater than 12:1.

Essential Duties

• Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute
• Collaborate with LTFC multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of services
• Designs, develops, collaborates, implements, and monitors individualized behavior support plans or DPW Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Identifies behavioral needs and creates goals and intervention techniques to assist minors
• Evaluates methods and recommends changes to support behavioral needs
• Development of intake assessment, individual service plan, family reunification and discharge
• Collaborates with the youth to establish achievable goals to promote personal development and independent living skills
• Creates independent living skill plans, in accordance with the minor’s identified goals
• Collaborates with other members of the clinical team to monitor client progress and areas of concern
• Completes required documentation to maintain compliance in a timely manner
• Assists and promotes acculturation in a culturally sensitive way
• Elevates client-related concerns in a timely manner
• Develops and maintains a professional and supportive relationship with all agency staff, volunteers, ORR, CYF, ICE, VERA, and community
• Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a positive, constructive manner. Responds personally to clients, family members, sponsors, volunteers and community leaders
• Provides training and ongoing follow-up on crisis intervention techniques
• Participates in the on-call rotation and follows the procedures when service in an on-call capacity
• Models and assists in the implementation of the HART Model and Trauma-Informed Care
• Participates in all required agency and regulatory trainings within expected time frame.
• Works collaboratively with staff, children, families, service providers, and others
• Promptly reports civil or criminal convictions, charges, arrests, investigations, or adjudications that may arise since staff member’s last background investigation. This includes but is not limited to sexual abuse in a prison, jail, holding facility, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, other institution (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997), or care provider facility; conviction of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or who was civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in such activity
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work with clinical experience in the program, or a Master’s in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement OR Bachelor’s degree in relevant behavior science plus 5 years’ clinical employment experience
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills in English (read, write, and speak)
• Must have or be able to obtain Act 33, 34 and FBI Clearances.
• Must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid PA driver’s license and able to drive a car or van

• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
• Must be able to follow process for crisis and behavior de‑escalation techniques as taught by the program
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
