Job summary

A healthcare organization in Cleveland seeks a Lead Clinical Pharmacist specializing in geriatrics. Lead Clinical Pharmacist - Geriatrics

Full-time / 40 hours per week

Akron City Campus

  • Shared faculty position with NEOMED
Summary

Serves as facilitator for pharmaceutical care team; participates in ongoing education of team members; coordinates quality improvement initiatives of team; ensures the safe, efficacious, and cost-effective use of medications in assigned patient populations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Formal Education Required: Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Licensed or license eligible by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
  • Experience & Training Required: Completion of residency training in pharmacy practice or three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a pharmaceutical care position which has provided skills in pharmacy education and quality improvement. Prefer PGY2 in geriatrics preferred.
  • Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
    • Ability to operate a computer terminal, hand‑held calculator, and other office equipment; manipulate fine instruments; and prepare pharmaceutical entities in minute proportions.
    • Ability to work well within a team environment: by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs
    • Ability to be self‑directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure
    • Working knowledge of Ohio pharmacy law
    • Flexibility / adaptability to meet environmental constraints and demands common with changing reimbursement and managed care targets
    • Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity
Physical Demands & Hazards
  • Level of Physical Demands: Sedentary – Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • Hazards: Exposure to blood, blood fluids, and sharps; risk of falls, strains, contagious diseases, cuts from broken glass, needle puncture, etc. Possible exposure to selected hazardous substances (e.g., alcohol, chemotherapeutic agents, etc.)

$60.24/hr – $90.35/hr

Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
