Job summary

Responsibilities

• Adhere to local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Understand the store's layout and locate products.
• Inform associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Condition products according to company policy.
• Understand and perform cashier functions.
• Ensure adherence to merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense, supply controls, loss prevention, safety and other rules.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks, or illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
