Job summary

Ford Design in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced Surface Development professional to lead Class A surfacing across programs. You will integrate engineering requirements with the design vision, maintain a coordinated Class A surface database, and ensure surfaces are designed-in-context across interfaces.

This hybrid role requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in Class A surfacing, with proficiency in ICEM Surf, CATIA ISD, Alias, Teamcenter and Reference Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Class A Surfacing with design language.
• Strong technical skills in Class A Surfacing tools and data management.

Responsibilities

• Leads program surface progression of Design and critique sheets.
• Leads cross-system surface execution for full system compatibility.
• Ensures interfaces are designed-in-context with a coordinated data set.
• Develops and maintains Class A surface database (Reference Manager).
• Incorporates technical, attribute and program requirements into surface.
• Drives resolution of data issues via power wall and digital reviews.
• Maintains product structure and part history in Teamcenter.
• Mentors Class A Surface Designers to deliver feasible geometry on schedule.
