Job summary

Child Development Schools Virginia seeks a Lead Teacher to guide a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and growth. You will plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons, maintain a safe, organized environment, and document each child's progress for families.

As part of a collaborative teaching team, you will communicate with families, support licensing ratios, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass a background check.
• Completion of 12 hours of childcare training within 30 days of hire.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or degree is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Keep the classroom safe, organized, and compliant with licensing and ratio requirements.
• Observe and document each child's development and share progress with families.
• Build relationships with parents through daily communication and conferences.
• Complete required documentation including attendance and assessments.
