Job summary

Arxada is seeking a Lead Chemist for the Conley, GA onsite Quality Control Laboratory. You will perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process batches and finished products, analyze and adjust plant batches, and lead root cause investigations for quality incidents.

You will train and mentor colleagues, oversee the QC training program, maintain equipment, and support ISO 9001 activities within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Analytical testing in QC lab/manufacturing environments.

• Exposure to ISO 9001 and internal auditing.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process batches and finished products.

• Develop, update and review QC procedures and analytical methods; support ISO 9001 activities.
• Train and mentor new laboratory technicians and oversee QC training program.

This onsite laboratory role combines hands-on analytical testing with quality leadership, continuous improvement, investigations, and the opportunity to train and mentor colleagues. You will work closely with manufacturing and quality partners to resolve issues, strengthen laboratory processes and help drive reliable quality performance.Essential Job Functions:Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process batches and finished products using approved methods, including non-routine laboratory testing needed to support investigations and quality projectsAnalyze and adjust plant batches, investigate problem batches, and lead root cause investigations for minor and major quality incidentsMaintain and improve site quality programs by monitoring quality performance, supporting corrective actions, and contributing to continuous improvement across manufacturing and Quality Control processesDevelop, update and review Quality Control procedures and analytical methods, and support ISO 9001 activities as a member of the internal audit teamOversee quality transactions and resolve ERP errors as required, issue Certificates of Analysis, and maintain appropriate quality documentation within relevant information systemsTrain and mentor new laboratory technicians, oversee the QC training program, and provide ongoing procedural and technical support to the Quality Control LaboratoryMaintain laboratory equipment and consumables, coordinate external maintenance and repairs, and oversee inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicalsFollow all safety policies and procedures while actively promoting and encouraging safe work practices throughout the laboratoryQualifications & Experience:Demonstrated experience performing analytical testing in a Quality Control laboratory or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of analytical methods, laboratory practices, quality documentation and investigation techniquesExperience investigating quality issues and applying root cause analysis and corrective action principlesAbility to perform a broad range of laboratory tests and use analytical techniques beyond established procedures when neededExperience training or mentoring laboratory colleagues and providing technical or procedural guidanceWorking knowledge of quality management systems, with exposure to ISO 9001 and internal auditingStrong collaboration, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to work safely and effectively in an onsite manufacturing laboratory environmentThe expected salary range for this role is 63,000 USD to 77,000 USD, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.Arxada has world class offering in two distinct areas:Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) focuses on threats posed by microorganisms to people and planet through five distinct business lines including Professional Hygiene, Home & Personal Care, Wood Protection, Paints & Coatings and Material Protection.Nutrition, Care & Environmental (NCE), meanwhile, provides materials used to manufacture composites for electronics, aerospace and other markets, as well as vitamins and nutritional ingredients, chemicals and performance intermediates, and raw materials for a wide range of high-performance applications.Arxada is an equal opportunity employer.
