Job summary
Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a CCU Charge Nurse for Lewiston, Maine. This 12-week assignment in the Coronary Care Unit offers day and night shifts with a base pay plus a $3/hour differential.
The role involves supervising staff, ensuring patient safety, and coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges. Requirements include active RN license in state, BLS and ACLS on hire, and CCU supervisory/acute care experience.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN license.
- BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain.
- ACLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in CCU/acute care.
- Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience in acute care hospital CCU setting.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Monitor quality of care, documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Implement immediate care plan changes to promote patient safety.
- Conduct patient and family rounding to enhance the patient experience.
- Serve as a resource for patients, families and staff.
- Provide direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing ratios.
- Support daily unit operations and communicate safety concerns.
- Manage staffing, scheduling and assignments.
- Supervise, coach and evaluate staff; assist with performance management.
- Ensure supplies, equipment and inventory levels are adequate.
- Coordinate with departments to support admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Oversee nursing staff and patient care during assigned shift.
