Job summary

Verisk is seeking a Senior Model Validation Analyst to independently evaluate scientific, engineering, and financial model components, turning complex data into evidence of accuracy and reliability. You will lead validation strategies and expand test coverage, communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/graduate STEM degree and a graduate degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • Proficient in Python or R and SQL; experience with GIS and data libraries.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and validating probabilistic models.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and execution of test plans for natural catastrophe model components.
  • Validate algorithms against sources and validation principles.
  • Analyze large datasets and run advanced statistical analyses.
  • Create transparent documentation in Jupyter Notebook or R Markdown.
  • Communicate results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams and expand automated testing.
