Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a Lead Caregiver in our California location. The role combines frontline caregiving with shift leadership to ensure high‑quality resident care while guiding and supporting the caregiving team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid and medication administration certifications, and experience in senior care. Strong communication and leadership are essential, with a focus on safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; age 18+
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
• Strong communication, delegation, and decision‑making skills
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care

Responsibilities

• Lead shift assignments, manage attendance, and coordinate coverage
• Provide hands-on ADL support when needed
• Coach caregivers on quality, hospitality, and documentation standards
• Review charting and ensure alignment with ISP
• Monitor resident changes and communicate concerns promptly
• Support onboarding and mentor new team members
• Promote safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions
