Job summary

Sunset Senior Living in Brookfield is seeking 3 Lead Caregivers (1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts) to join our team of dedicated professionals who aim to improve residents' lives. The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to CAPLICO values, and leadership within the caregiving team.

Caregivers assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and maintain resident dignity while supporting overall health and well-being.

Qualifications

• Direct care experience in a senior care setting is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; CNA credential preferred or current certification.
• Experience with physician orders is a plus.
• Willingness to lead staff and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Encourage independence while maintaining resident dignity and safety.
• Support socialization, cognition, and physical health in daily tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation with the wellness team.
• Learn job tasks and responsibilities and assist new staff.

About the Opportunity

The Caregiver supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.

• Displays personal initiative to complete work without constant supervision.
• Demonstrates consistent work attendance as scheduled and addresses work related problems with the proper individuals.
• Communication skills that include careful listening, being sensitive to other people’s thoughts and feelings, giving thoughtful responses, and the timely and accurate reporting to appropriate people.
• Maintains confidentiality of both resident and staff information.
• Must present with a neat, clean appearance.
• Participates in designated facility in-services. Help new staff learn job tasks and responsibilities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the wellness team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior direct care experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CNA certification.
