Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead a caregiving team in our Michigan-based facilities. The role emphasizes 1440 care standards, effective family communication, and timely care updates to Wellness Leaders.

• Previous health care or geriatric experience preferred.
• CNA or MA preferred with 2 years of related experience or training.
• CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written/oral/visual instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and overall accountability for your team and their performance.
• Uphold attendance and ensure readiness to start and stay for the full shift.
• Understand and lead 1440 care standards to meet residents' and families' needs.
• Communicate with families tactfully and ensure messages are understood.
• Inform Wellness Leader promptly about changes in resident needs or care.
• Provide 1440 care including activities of daily living and medication reminders.
• Maintain complete documentation per company policies.
• Work weekends and/or on call as assigned; contribute to continual improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Position Summary:

• Lead, manage, and overall accountability for your team and their performance
• Timely & Accountable Attendance: Upholding to work schedule, being ready to start work on time, remaining on the job for the whole duration of shift, and limited use of time off
• 1440 Care for residents: Understanding and leading our 1440 care standards so you and your team ensure that each resident and each family has their needs met
• Responsible communication with families: communicating messages tactfully and timely with resident’s families and ensuring the message has been received and correctly understood
• Communicate resident changes immediately; providing timely and detailed information to your Wellness Leader regarding any changes to a resident’s needs or care

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Leads and provides 1440 care
• Will provide compassionate and competent care for residents by performing the following services:
  • Bathing, showering and grooming assistance
  • Serve and collect food trays; assist residents with dining
  • Wheelchair and walking escorts
  • Toileting and incontinence care assistance
  • Meal, activity, and medication reminder assistance
  • Wake up and turn down service
  • Upkeep of resident rooms
  • Answers resident call signals
  • Medication assistance/medication administration
• Maintains appropriate and complete documentation per company policies
• Available to work weekends and/or on call as necessary as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator
• Work toward continual improvement of the overall organization
• Perform other duties as assigned

General Working Conditions

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
