Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen for a chapter house. You will plan and execute fresh, from-scratch menus each week, train staff, and ensure top quality, safety, and presentation.

This hands-on leadership role requires experience in high-volume production or catering, strong culinary skills, and the ability to manage budgets and schedules while maintaining UCFS standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in professional, high-volume food production or catering.
• Culinary degree a plus, not required.
• Manager-level sanitation certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
• Proficiency across cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fresh, from-scratch weekly menus with chapter input.
• Create high-quality meals with excellent presentation; send plated meal photos to management.
• Keep the kitchen and dining area clean and up to code.
• Train and oversee kitchen staff; manage schedules and performance.
• Order supplies within budget and maintain inventory.
• Enforce food safety and sanitation standards per regulations.
• Plan and execute special events as directed by management.
• Communicate regularly with management and the chapter.
• Hold the team accountable to UCFS policies.
