Responsibilities

  • Own ONC Pharma campaign strategy end to end from objective to launch and optimization.

  • Set briefs and creative direction aligned to strategy with creative and brand teams.
  • Surface risks to timeline, budget, or performance and drive resolution.

Job description

Natera's Oncology Pharma Marketing team is hiring a Lead Campaign Manager to own campaign strategy and execution end to end. This is a senior individual-contributor role, not a coordination or support function: you will set the strategy, direct execution across channels and partners, read performance data critically, and drive the tweaks and next moves that make campaigns better. You will report to the Director of Corporate Marketing, and work in close, high-trust partnership with the ONC Marketing VP and cross-functional leaders across creative, agency, and marketing operations.

The right person is able to work autonomously — someone who can build a campaign strategy from a business objective, defend it with data, and hold a professional line with senior stakeholders, including pushing back when the strategy, timeline, or resourcing calls for it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own ONC Pharma campaign strategy end to end — from translating business and brand objectives into an integrated, multi-channel campaign plan through launch, in-flight optimization, and retrospective.
  • Direct day-to-day execution across channels (digital, email, paid media, content, HCP/patient-facing programs, events), making prioritization calls and tradeoffs as they arise.
  • Set the campaign brief and creative direction in partnership with creative and brand teams, ensuring every asset ladders back to strategy.
  • Proactively surface risks to timeline, budget, or performance and drive them to resolution — rather than escalating and waiting.
Performance Measurement & Optimization
  • Define the KPIs and measurement framework for each campaign; monitor performance in flight rather than only in retrospective.
  • Read measurement results critically — translate what happened into specific, actionable tweaks, tests, and recommendations for what to do next.
  • Build a continuous test-and-learn discipline into every campaign cycle, and codify what's learned so it compounds across campaigns.
  • Present performance results and strategic recommendations directly to senior stakeholders, including the ONC Marketing VP, with clear, well-substantiated rationale.
Cross-Functional & Agency Leadership
  • Serve as the senior point of coordination across creative, agency and media partners and marketing operations.
  • Drive alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities by facilitating decisions — not simply routing requests or escalating every conflict.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships, holding partners accountable to strategy, quality, and timeline, and redirecting work that misses the mark.
Executive Partnership — Managing Up
  • Partner closely with the ONC Marketing VP as a strategic thought partner, bringing a well-reasoned point of view rather than waiting for direction.
  • Hold the line on campaign strategy, scope, and prioritization decisions under pressure or scope creep, communicating disagreement professionally and constructively.
  • Know when to resolve versus elevate, and when escalating, bring options and a recommendation rather than an open question.
  • Give direct, constructive feedback up and across the organization, including to more senior stakeholders, in service of the campaign and the business.
Qualifications
  • 12 years in campaign management (or 8 years and a master’s degree in marketing or equivalent) or marketing strategy/execution roles, with a track record of owning strategy end to end rather than executing against someone else's brief. Pharma, biopharma, oncology, or broader life sciences experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated fluency in reading and acting on performance data (e.g., analytics platforms, Power BI, Salesforce, Eloqua or similar marketing automation) — comfortable moving from “what happened” to “what we do about it.”
  • Proven experience managing up to and influencing senior stakeholders, including situations requiring diplomatic pushback, boundary-setting, and holding a position under pressure.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills — able to align creative, agency, and operations partners without formal authority over them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at presenting, defending, and adjusting recommendations in front of leadership.
  • Experience operating within a regulated pharma marketing environment (MLR / medical-legal review processes) strongly preferred.
  • Self-directed, high-ownership operator who brings structure and judgment to a fast-moving oncology pharma environment, and who mentors or sets the bar for junior team members and agency partners without formally managing them.
