Job summary

Asplundh Electrical Testing (AET) invites a skilled Lead Calibration Technician to advance our measurement systems with traceability to NIST standards. You will perform in-lab and on-site calibrations, mentor technicians, and drive CAPA and continuous improvement.

You bring 3–5 years of calibration experience, expertise with Fluke MET/CAL and MET/TEAM, and a Bachelor or Associate degree in metrology or engineering. Travel, audits, and customer engagement are key aspects of this role.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands-on calibration experience with traceability to standards.
• Experience calibrating and troubleshooting a broad range of test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, temperature sensors, and high-voltage probes.
• Leadership or team coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-lab and on-site calibrations for electrical, mechanical, and thermal instruments with traceability to standards.
• Develop and validate calibration procedures and uncertainty budgets in line with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.
• Manage Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke Customer Portal for calibration records.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement CAPA for nonconformances.
• Prepare detailed performance reports using Crystal Reports and Excel.
• Support internal and external audits with evidence of traceability and compliance.
• Train and mentor calibration technicians and act as a technical liaison for customers.

As a Lead Calibration Technician , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and traceability of all measurement systems while mentoring a skilled team. Key Responsibilities

• Perform and verify in-lab and on-site calibrations for electrical, mechanical, and thermal instruments with full traceability to NIST or equivalent standards.


• Develop and validate calibration procedures and uncertainty budgets using Fluke Editor and manufacturer specifications in alignment with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.


• Manage Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke Customer Portal for accurate calibration records and data integrity.


• Analyze calibration data for trends and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and turnaround time.


• Oversee external calibration vendors, ensuring compliance with tolerances and environmental conditions.


• Lead root cause investigations and implement CAPA for calibration-related nonconformances.


• Prepare detailed performance reports using Crystal Reports and advanced Excel tools.


• Support internal and external audits, presenting evidence of traceability and compliance.


• Train and mentor calibration technicians, fostering technical growth and adherence to safety and quality standards.


• Act as a technical liaison for customer inquiries and provide expert guidance.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput and customer satisfaction.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).


• 3–5 years of hands‑on calibration experience with demonstrated proficiency in electrical measurement principles, uncertainty analysis, and traceability systems.


• Proven experience calibrating and troubleshooting a broad range of test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, high‑voltage probes, temperature sensors, transducers, environmental chambers, power supplies, multiproduct calibrators, hipots, DLROs, micro ohmmeters, carrier equipment, and insulated poles.


• Leadership or team coordination experience preferred.

Technical Proficiency

• Advanced user of Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke Editor.


• Skilled in data analysis and reporting using Crystal Reports and Excel (macros, pivot tables).


• Understanding of measurement uncertainty, calibration intervals, and tolerance determination.


• Proficient with Microsoft Teams and collaborative digital tools.

Certifications

• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)


• OSHA 10/30 Certification Company‑sponsored certification programs available.
