Job summary

nVent is seeking a CAD Design Lead to head a world-class team of CAD designers and drafters in Madison. The role focuses on mentoring, setting CAD standards, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across drawings and models.

You will optimize CAD workflows, coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams, and manage CAD software licenses in partnership with IT, while upholding quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Demonstrated background as a CAD Designer, Drafter, or in a comparable position with advancement into leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a world-class team of CAD designers and drafters.
• Assign workloads, balance priorities, and ensure timelines are met.
• Establish and implement CAD standards, templates, and guidelines.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and optimize CAD workflows to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams.
