Job summary

San Bernardino County's Purchasing Department seeks a Supervising Buyer who plans and supervises the procurement unit, reviews and approves purchase orders and contracts, and conducts complex negotiations and value analysis.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in purchasing, supply management, business, economics, accounting or finance, with at least four years of direct buying experience and one year of supervisory responsibility; CPPB or CPSM certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in purchasing/supply management, business/public administration, economics, accounting, finance or related field.
• Four (4) years of direct buying experience for goods and services and one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• All information must be clearly detailed on the application; resumes are not reviewed.
• Education must be accredited; if completed outside the U.S., an evaluation report is required.
• CPPB or CPSM certification is preferred.
