Job summary

Centene Corporation in Clayton, MO is seeking a senior data solutions architect to strategize, plan, and build complex solutions using SQL, Power BI, and Snowflake. You will lead the development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

You will mentor teammates, conduct code reviews, and advocate best practices in data models and analytics, applying Agile and Scrum methodologies to deliver reliable BI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Completion of a technical training program may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Healthcare experience a plus.
• Applies basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Performs complex research and advanced analysis with SQL and Power BI (DAX); identify best solution for stakeholder requests and problems; select the best method to develop solutions.
• Collaborates with and mentors peers on development and solution strategy; conducts code reviews and pull requests; partners to identify scalable product solutions.
• Writes code (SQL, Power BI, Snowflake) for software programs and applications, following best programming practices.

Job description

Position Purpose: Strategizes, plans, conceptualizes, configures, and builds complex solutions that solve common challenges within the business, by using technological tools or programs. Conducts extensive research and gathers requirements to determine customer needs and lead and provide oversight of the development process from an operational perspective. Acts as a subject matter expert providing advice, support and guidance as needed and serves as a mentor to colleagues. Must have the ability to be self-sufficient.

• Manages the entire implementation process and drives definition of business needs by leading a project team, conduct requirements gathering; maintain communication with stakeholders during solution development.
• Performs complex research and advanced analysis with SQL and Power BI (DAX); find/create best solutions to stakeholder requests or problems; identify the best method or tool to develop solutions.
• Collaborates with and mentor peers on development and solution strategy; regular code reviews and pull requests; team partnership to identify efficient and effective scalable product solutions. Refers solutions for implementation.
• Writes code (SQL, Power BI, Snowflake) for software programs and applications, working with classes, using inheritance and virtualization, and following best programming practices.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Completion of a technical training program (e.g., LaunchCode, FDM, etc.) may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Healthcare experience a plus.

Applies basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Technical Skills Desired :

• Advanced knowledge and experience with SQL
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with Power BI and DAX
• Intermediate knowledge of OLAP DBs (Snowflake, Teradata, etc)
• Intermediate knowledge of Relational Databases

Pay Range: $107,700.00 - $199,300.00 per year
