Starting salary ranges from $109,383 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199 (GS-13, Step 10). Eligibility includes dual compensation waiver options, expedited pre-employment, and accelerated training. Sector locations are across the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in law enforcement or related duties demonstrating firearms use, judgment, and investigative abilities.
  • Qualifying at GS-13 requires 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, including immigration enforcement and intelligence gathering.
  • Language proficiency in Spanish (read and speak) is required.
  • Applicant must meet all background and time-in-grade requirements as described in the notice.

Responsibilities

  • Protect borders by patrolling land, air, and sea using a variety of government assets.
  • Enforce immigration and customs laws, detain and apprehend noncitizens as required.
  • Investigate and interdict smuggling operations and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Coordinate with partners and maintain files and reports as part of border security operations.
