Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in New London, CT, is seeking a Lead Bonder to support construction of nuclear powered submarines. You will interpret drawings, lay out and install lead panels, caulk, and maintain qualification as a radiation worker, with responsibilities across multiple shifts.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 0-5 years experience, and be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in radiological areas. Basic hand tools are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or be a current High School Senior, OR have 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 0-5 years of experience relevant to this job description.
  • CNC operation experience and knowledge.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and in all environments as well as Radiological areas of the boat.
  • Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy. We are experiencing a period of growth in our Lead Bonder Department. We provide training to teach you how to excel as a Lead Bonder if you are eager to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematical ability.
  • Layout, cut, assemble and install lead panels inside lead bays.
  • Caulk lead panels into place using pneumatic tools.
