Job summary

Mamahuhu is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager in Mill Valley/San Francisco to lead back-of-house operations daily. You will recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing BOH team, uphold food quality, and drive efficient systems with the GM and FOH partners.

You will own scheduling, training, inventory, and safety while maintaining a positive kitchen culture and delivering great guest experiences. Competitive salary with bonus potential; benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant experience, including 3+ years supervising a team.
• ServSafe Manager Certification required.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
• BOH training across every kitchen position and ability to operate each one.
• Comfortable using restaurant technology (POS, tablets, printers).

Responsibilities

• Lead BOH culture and development of a high-performing kitchen team.
• Recruit, train, and coach staff; manage scheduling, timecards, PTO, and call-outs.
• Ensure food quality and consistency through tastings and audits.
• Maintain on-time prep and full-menu availability; coordinate with GM during service.
• Manage food and labor costs; participate in monthly P&L meetings.
• Oversee kitchen operations, safety, cleanliness, inventory, and deep cleaning.
